Understanding Without Jargon·1 / 5

Imagine teaching a child to recognise a dog. You don't give them a rulebook: "four legs, fur, barks." You show them hundreds of dogs — big ones, small ones, fluffy ones, short-haired ones — and eventually they build an internal model of "dog-ness." They can then recognise a dog they've never seen before. This is, in essence, how modern AI learns. Not through explicit rules, but through patterns extracted from enormous quantities of examples.
