Environmental advocacy has been transformed by the availability of satellite imagery, open data, and AI tools that can process them. Investigations that once required expensive field surveys or legal discovery processes can now be initiated with publicly available satellite data, AI-assisted document analysis, and open-source intelligence techniques. This has democratised environmental investigation — placing serious analytical capabilities in the hands of NGOs, journalists, and local communities.
